St Michaels recognises there is a need for skills that enable young people to function and cope in life.

This is why we offer Life Skills, which is a free course that runs every few months teaching young people these valuable skills and the importance of them.

In each course we cover several skills that will help young people to adjust to responsibilties and tasks that they will need now or in the future.

We keep the format relaxed so that everyone can socialize and enjoy themselves during the course. These are good times for us to engage and connect with the young people. The young people also recieve a certificate at the end of the course.

By the end of the course we will have led sessions explaining demonstrating and performing with the young people several household and day to day tasks that are often left for young people to learn by themselves. Also we give them knowledge and skills that are needed for a work enviroment and explain why they are important. These can range from working with computers to interview skills and phone manner. We do all of this in a positive enviroment free from judgement and pressure.
